From 5 AM discussion by Forecaster Blake.

THE NEW NHC FORECAST SPLITS
THE DIFFERENCES AND SHOWS LITTLE MOTION AT DAY 5...ALTHOUGH I FEAR
THAT NADINE WILL FIND A WAY TO LINGER EVEN LONGER OVER THE
NORTHEASTERN ATLANTIC.

HOWEVER...THE STORY DOES NOT END THERE...AND IT IS DEJA
VU ALL OVER AGAIN. GLOBAL MODELS SHOW THAT ANOTHER SHORTWAVE WILL
APPROACH NADINE...BUT IT WILL BYPASS THE CYCLONE...LEAVING
NADINE EMBEDDED WITHIN LIGHT STEERING FLOW AGAIN.

:uarrow: LOL, yeah I just saw that. Nadine just won't go away. Looks more and more like it will get a place in the record books. It has had September and the heart of the hurricane season all to itself.

The NHC forecasts that Nadine may be almost stationary in early October. Maybe it will make its second loop like what it did in mid-September.

Nadine is slightly more south than when it first became a hurricane. Very interersting storm.

It's like she is committed to sticking around until we find a suitable system to name Oscar.

Three deaths so far... in Spain today.

From J. Masters blogg: http://www.wunderground.com/blog/JeffMa ... ticle.html

Nadine a hurricane again
Non-stop Nadine has regenerated to hurricane strength again, as the long-lived storm enters its 16th day of life. Nadine is not expected to be a threat to any land areas for the next seven days, but moisture associated with Nadine has flowed eastwards over Spain, bringing heavy rains and flooding problems.

Nadine is up there with those systems that lasted a lot of days since 1950. The all time record is held by San Ciriaco in 1899.

1) Ginger, 1971: 21.25 named storm days
2) Carrie, 1957: 19.5 named storm days
3) Alberto, 2000: 19.25 named storm days
4) Bertha, 2008: 17 named storm days
5) Inga, 1969: 17 named storm days
6) Kyle, 2002: 16.75 named storm days
7) Inez, 1966: 16.25 named storm days
8) Nadine, 2012: 16.0 named storm days

I don't think that's right. Kyle 02 lasted 22 days, Ginger for 27.25. Unless, is that only based on status as a tropical storm?

That list was posted by Dr Jeff Masters in his blog but compiled by Dr Klotzbach.

Well, since the 5 day track still projects a TS, we might take the prize.

What if in the end this ends up really south, then all the troughing disappears, and we have a new high to push everything west, and then this makes landfall on the CONUS!
