2002 Kyle was so much more fasninating as an east coaster...and surfer....

Kyle spent its entire three week life creeping ever closer to us, mades its loop hundreds of miles off the US coast not thousandsof miles like Nadine. Then he capped it off by making a run right up the east coast! Amazing storm. Produced at least 20 surfable days from mid September to mid October without causing any real devastation to anyone, the water was warm and if i remember right the east coast was basking in nice late summer warm spell. Probably a bit of rose-colored glasses going on there.

Yeah, you're right. No reason to get excited over watching Nadine when there was Kyle, 10 years ago. The very existence of Kyle means no one can be fascinated by Nadine.

I'm no expert, everything I say should be taken with a large amount of salt. I could easily be very, very wrong.

Granted, Nadine was a hurricane for 19 advisories, and Kyle was a hurricane for only 11 advisories. So, two more days as a hurricane is pretty cool.
