A dangerous system if it doesn't weaken.

A possible ERC( Eyewall ReplacementCyclone) could make some damage to the intensity as it close to landfall

OMG...I was expecting that there is possible ERC sseeing the distorted eye an an hour back in the radar...But latest radar updates shows perfect eye.

If ERC does not happen. It is going to be a devastating Cyclone

again, those in India need to be very careful of any intensity information from the IMD. This is NOT a 165 kmh cyclone. It is closer to 200-210 kmh with gusts to 250 kmh. It may intensify a bit more prior to landfall

That said, IMD is providing better estimates than they have in previous TCs

Looking at the latest radar from about half an hr ago all bands still feeding into eyewall and very symmetric even on skewed sat image. :double: :double:

can barely see an eye on the RSMC New Delphi imagery again.. they keep the Dvorak at 5.0 for the 1800 PM UTC detailed satellite bulletin.

JTWC ADT has the note of pin-hole eye scenery.

Based on a visual interpretation and trends, I would say 105 kt is the current intensity.

Probably made landfall now. A little fortunate that this storm didn't go RI but can still cause potential major damage.

Radar suggests the eyewall is onshore but the eye still offshore. Landfall likely around 0700Z.

As of about an hour ago, the Cyclone Warning Center in Visakhapatnam was reporting winds of 69mph (around 60KT) and a pressure of 28.20in (around 955mb). I don't know if the wind is sustained or a gust.
