It's all of you that make Storm2K the place that it is and for me it's the number one place to be during all types of weather. Take care...I'll see you soon I'm sure!

Yup with the fairly uniform low-level flow, this one lost its shot at development. It had a chance yesterday and the NHC thought so too by raising the % to 30, but that chance has now passed. Convection is not well organized at all and vorticity has really decreased. As Wxman said yesterday, maybe some rain for the Carolinas.

FWIW, It looks better than some tropical depressions that I've tracked over the years.

Yes, thanks to all the professional Mets who take time to post here to keep me informed on this storm, and others. Also i wanna thank the Mods an Non-Professional Mets who also keep this place as my personal Mecca for weather info. Sorry if off topic, but just wanted to give thanks, been meaning to do that since they got me through Katrina,Gustav, and Isaac. :D :D

If that ULL moved away/degenerated like earlier model guidance showed, then things could have been different for the zombie Chantal. But alas, it was not meant to be.

Next storm please

Just east of the northern bahamas that area of convection building.. is dead center of the mid level circ... there is a little bit of low level flow starting to turn into it... if anything is to form would be around there.. not a good chance but maybe its last shot.

Not to me. Looks like a disorganized mess. Time to look elsewhere for development.

I learned that lesson 2 seasons ago. wxman57 schooled me lots of times, people be like "it looks like its getting organized", and then wxman57 will be like "its just a few thunderstorms". And the very next post someone will say "OMG, it looks like a hurricane, I can see the Eye!!!" He maybe wrong along the way sometimes but the end result wxman57 is alway right. I have even seen him schooled othernpro mets 8-)

I thought the whole point of forums and communities was to discuss and "argue" about different subjects? lol

I saw some comments that were downright disrespectful ... I was a rookie too at one point but everyone has to remember that pro-mets have the experience and knowledge.

Just an observation.

I believe that my whole point of being on here is this:

I want to offer my observations and thoughts that I have on the tropics or a system. Then I'd like to get some input from other people including, but not limited to Professional Meteorologists. It helps me learn by actually interacting and learning something that is real. You get people of all walks of life, with different feelings and thoughts. People are never going to be cookie cutter. They may not know how things work here. The most important thing is to learn...

That's my two cents...

If everybody only listened to professional meteorologists all the time, nothing would get done. Debate between others creates ideas, which creates solutions to issues that wouldn't otherwise have been resolved. Being a meteorologist doesn't mean you're always right...I can't count how many times I've seen an amateur completely school a professional meteorologist both here and about every other forum I've ever visited. Debates are a good learning experience. Just my opinion.

Excellent points made by TAwx13. This is why we gather on forums like Storm2K. It is a learning experience for everyone who either earns a living studying the weather and all other enthusiasts.

This is a public forum for all of us to gather and share thoughts, insights and opinions about the science of meterology. It will never be perfect with analyzing science of course. However, as long as we all respect each other, I can not think of a better place to talk weather, especially tropical weather, than Storm2K.

NEVER, EVER SAY NEVER in the tropics and weather in general, and most importantly, with life itself!!

Looks more organized than it has been in days, since interacting with Haiti and Cuba. Hopefully Best Track updates with the new low center.
