What is the record for longest duration between degeneration and regeneration? This has been a week since it was last a tropical cyclone.

The naked spiral is clearly the surface center.

Right, we can see the weak swirl and we have plenty of surface obs in the area. Don't need ASCAT. Last advisory should be issued shortly. Clearly wasn't a TD this morning and certainly isn't one now.

P.S. I see the last advisory was issued as I typed this.

The NHC modified the ATCF database to indicate that Dorian became a tropical depression again at 0z last night.

Was probably a cyclone from ~3pm EDT yesterday to ~5am EDT.

I want to know the answer to this as well. It might be a record, its at least the longest I've ever seen. Didn't expect it but it was wimpy all the way.

If there was a category for tropical waves that most closely resembled cyclones, Dorian would win the contest, hands down! :) (in reference to how it looked a couple days ago).

Someone needs to lock the morgue up and not let anyone in. Who knows what is going in there. Sheesh. Be gone Dorian...

OK, Bones, can you return and finally give last rites to Dorian? I think his days of resurrection have finally ended!
