TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK FOR NORTH INDIAN OCEAN (THE BAY OF
BENGAL AND ARABIAN SEA) VALID FOR NEXT 24 HOURS ISSUED AT 0600
UTC:

A LOW PRESSURE AREA OVER NORTHWEST BAY OF BENGAL &
NEIGHBOURHOOD HAS CONCENTRATED INTO DEPRESSION AND LAY
CENTERED AT 0830 HRS IST OF TODAY NEAR 21.0°N/88.5°E ABOUT 120 KM
SOUTHEAST OF DIGHA AND ABOUT 180 KM EAST-SOUTHEAST OF
BALASORE. IT IS LIKELY TO MOVE WEST-NORTHWESTWARDS
AND CROSS NORTH ODISHA COAST BETWEEN DIGHA AND CHANDBALI CLOSE TO
BALASORE BY TONIGHT.

Sub: Depression over northwest Bay of Bengal.

Latest satellite imagery and observations indicate that a depression has formed over
northwest Bay of Bengal 0830 hrs IST of today, the 30th July, 2013 near latitude 21.0N and
longitude 88.5E, about 180 kms eastsoutheast of Balasore.
The system would move west northwestwards and cross Odisha coast between Chandbali and Digha by
tonight.
Under the influence of this system, rainfall would occur at most places over Odisha,
Chattisgarh and Vidharba with heavy to very heavy falls at a few places during next 48 hours .
Extremely heavy falls would also occur at isolated places over Odisha during next 24 hrs.
Squally winds speed reaching 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph would prevail along
and off Odisha coast during next 48 hrs. Sea condition will be rough to very rough along and
off Odisha coast during this period.
Fishermen of Odisha coast are advised not to venture into the sea during next 48 hrs.
The next bulletin will be issued at 1730 hrs IST of today, the 30th July, 2013.

Sub: Depression crossed North Odisha and adjoining West Bengal coast.

The depression over northwest Bay of Bengal moved northwestward and crossed north Odisha and adjoining West Bengal coast between Balasore and Digha around 1230 hours IST and lay centred at 1430 hours IST of today, the 30th July, 2013 over north Odisha and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal, close to north of Balasore. The system would move west-northwestwards and weaken gradually into a well marked low pressure area during next 24 hrs.

Under the influence of this system, rainfall would occur at most places over Odisha and south Chattisgarh with heavy to very heavy falls at a few places during next 24 hours. Rainfall at most places with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall would occur over north Chattisgarh and Jharkhand during next 24 hrs and over east Madhya Pradesh during next 48 hours. Rainfall at most places would occur over Vidarbha with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall during next 24 hours and intensity would increase with heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places and isolated extremely heavy falls (≥25 cm) during subsequent 24 hours. Squally winds speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph would prevail along and off Odisha and West Bengal coasts during next 12 hrs. Sea condition will be rough to very rough along and off Odisha and West Bengal coasts during this period. Fishermen of Odisha and West Bengal coasts are advised not to venture into the sea during next 12 hrs.

The depression over north Odisha and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal remained practically stationary over the same region and lay centred at 1730 hours IST of today, the 30 th July, 2013, close to north of Balasore. The system would move west-northwestwards and weaken gradually into a well marked low pressure area during next 24 hrs.

I can't find anything there. OSCAT hit the area twice and there is no circulation.

Let's hope this system was not too bad. NIO storms tend to be the deadliest in the world.

The depression over north Odisha and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal moved westwards and lay centred at 0530 hours IST of today, the 31st July, 2013 over interior Odisha and adjoining Chhatisgarh, close to south of Jharsuguda. The system would move west northwestwards and weaken gradually into a well marked low pressure area during next 24 hrs.

Under the influence of this system, rainfall would occur at most places over south Chhattisgarh with heavy to very heavy falls at a few places during next 24 hrs. Rainfall at most places with heavy to very heavy falls at a few places over Telengana and Vidarbha during next 48 hrs with extremely heavy falls at one or two places. Rainfall at many places would occur over Odisha and north Chhattisgarh with heavy falls at one or two places during next 24 hrs and Rainfall at many places over Madhya Pradesh & rest Maharashtra with heavy falls at one or two places during next 48 hrs

Sub: Depression over north Chhattisgarh.

The depression over Chhattisgarh moved westwards and lay centred at 1130 hours IST of today, the 31st July, 2013 over north Chhattisgarh, about 50 km south-southeast of Pendra. The system would move west-northwestwards and weaken gradually into a well marked low pressure area during next 24 hrs.

Under the influence of this system, rainfall would occur at most places over Madhya Pradesh with isolated heavy to very heavy falls during next 48 hrs and over Chhattisgarh and Telengana during next 24 hours. Rainfall at most places with heavy to very heavy falls at a few places would occur over Vidarbha during next 24 hrs and isolated heavy to very heavy falls during subsequent 24 hrs. Rainfall at many places would occur over Marathwada and Madhya Maharashtra with isolated heavy falls during next 48 hrs

Sub: Depression over southeast Madhya Pradesh and adjoining areas of Vidarbha & Chhattisgarh.

The depression over east Madhya Pradesh and adjoining Chhattisgarh moved slightly westwards and lay centred at 0530 hours IST of today, the 1st August, 2013, over southeast Madhya Pradesh, adjoining areas of Vidarbha & Chhattisgarh, about 100 km south-southeast of Jabalpur. The system would move west- northwestwards and weaken gradually into a well marked low pressure area during next 24 hrs.

Under the influence of this system, rainfall would occur at most places over Vidarbha with heavy to very heavy falls at a few places during next 24 hours and at one or two places during subsequent 24 hours. Rainfall would occur at most places with heavy to very heavy falls at one or two places over Telengana during next 24 hours and over Madhya Pradesh during next 48 hours. Rainfall at many places would also occur over Chhattisgarh, Marathawada, Madhya Maharashtra, Gujarat, east Rajasthan with heavy falls at one or two places during next 48 hours.

The next bulletin will be issued at 1130 hrs IST of today, the 1st August, 2013.
