The tropics are really cooking now, potential for 3 simultaneous named storms towards the end of the week.

The National Hurricane Center is monitoring an area of disturbed weather located over the northwestern Caribbean Sea, moving west. This disturbance is forecast to move across the Yucatan Peninsula and into the Bay of Campeche by Thursday, where an area of low pressure is expected to form. Environmental conditions should gradually become more conducive for the development of a tropical depression by the weekend. The National Hurricane Center has given the system a low chance, 10%, of becoming a tropical cyclone over the next 48 hours, and a high chance, 60%, of becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 5 days.

:uarrow:

I think once that WCARIB energy moves west and combined with the lower pressure in the BOC, it'll be game on!

Here is an excerpt from new Orleans nws office about our new invest

MEANWHILE...A TROPICAL WAVE TRACKING ACROSS THE WESTERN CARRIBEAN
WILL EMERGE IN BAY OF CAMPECHE DURING THE LATTER PORTION OF THE
WEEK. GLOBAL MODELS DO SUGGEST DEVELOPMENT WITH THIS SYSTEM IS
POSSIBLE. THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT BY THEN...UPPER TROUGH TO THE
NORTHEAST WILL BE EJECTING AND A WEAK RIDGE WILL BE BUILDING BACK IN
OVER THE GULF COAST. THIS HIGH SHOULD KEEP THE TROPICAL FEATURE
HEADED WEST INTO MEXICO BUT IT MAY STILL SEND ENOUGH MOISTURE NORTH
INTO THE CWA FOR SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS TO DEVELOP THIS
WEEKEND.

Doesn't sound like they are worried in the least about the chances of this moving more north. Can't say I don't blame them unless something drastically and unforeseen happens.
