I just did a internview with James "Typhoon Hunter" and Jim Edds out of the states via Skype about their footage in Taiwan and now the storm pushing towards Hong Kong where they are now.

Unless the recent path changes in the next few hours, Usagi is going to make landfall 120+ miles (as the Mandarin duck flies) ENE of Hong Kong. Below is the 2pm (HK time), or 2 am EST radar image.

Seems to be weakening slowly again. Looks like a T5.0.

Of course, the winds won't be the major impact, as usual.

Here's the 3 pm Hong Kong time (3 am est) radar picture. Eye seems to have jogged a little to the left; but landfall still looks only 2-3 hours away: 11 hours earlier than forecast just 12 hours ago. Image

I'm here in Hong Kong and although I can't give you any more info than can be found on hko.gov.hk, I can tell you that it's really, really gusty. Every time there's another gust, I can hear some damage being done in my village. I'm wondering what we'll see in the morning when it's light....
