MED: RUVEN (CLEOPATRA) - (Sub)Tropical Storm

Extratropical system developed in a Subtropical Storm over Central Mediterranean Sea during 18-20 November 2013 period.
The region most affected is Sardinia, Calabria and Apulia (Puglia).
In Sardinia 18 people dead and many many damages for floods reported. 470 mm of rain in 12/h (medie value of 1000 mm for year)-
On the 19th night, the cyclone landfall in the south-central Italy with tropical storm caracteristics.
waterspout and tornado formed over Italian coast. A tornado F2 inflict a damages in the city of Gallipoli, Puglia region.
Italy declares state of emergency.

Appears to be non-tropical in nature IMO

The storm make a landfall 19 November night over central Italy, in my region, Latium. It like a t2.5 tropical storm intensity, 35-40 kt wind, but wind speed exceded 50-60 kt (max Sabaudia coast 62.3 kt). Damages for excessive big wave in the coast. Many trees is collapsed. The little circulation 989hpa, The outflow radii cirrus band, warm core and convection in the center is evident. :

20/11/13: warm core cyclone acquired discrete convection this day over Adriatic sea. new Landfall over Croatia coast:

Wow, is the flooding from rain or surge? I assume the first floor filled with sand is from a surge event? Looks like a wild weather event...
