I think half the eye has to be inland before officially landfalling.... in this case Gordon has just half an eye so I don’t know how that gets scored.

This wx station just reported 55mph.. just north of daulphin island. They are right on the water, per statement information.

Sooo close but I just don't think 'ol Gordo's gonna cross that Hurricane status finish line. Perhaps post analysis will change that but I doubt it.
