I didn't think this one would get tagged so quickly.

This one might have to be watched down the line. I think the models have this system moving more south.

Welcome to September everyone. Going to be hectic.

Not an meteorologist! Just someone who is interested in weather. Please refer to the NHC and local weather officials to make decisions.

I was just here a little while ago and no invest. :lol: You'd think Gordon would have been declared one as quickly, being so much closer to land.

Yea, the GFS has not exactly done a stellar job with either Gordon or Florence though. ECMWF has been consistent for over six days that this would happen, and it appears to be doing so.

My posts are my own personal opinion, defer to the National Hurricane Center (NHC) and other NOAA products for decision making during hurricane season.

I called this wave at the Talking Tropics thread the sleeper one and here we are now with the invest and Euro showing what PR does not need.

8 PM TWO:

A tropical wave located a few hundred miles southeast of the Cabo
Verde Islands continues to produce a large area of disorganized
showers and thunderstorms. Gradual development of this system is
expected, and it could become a tropical depression late this week
or this weekend while it moves westward to west-northwestward across
the eastern tropical Atlantic.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...10 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...medium...50 percent.
