Edit: One death reported so far in Oaxaca.

Wait a minute, the city of Oaxaca is about 400 miles inland from the eastern Pacific. I find it hard to tie this death to the storm.

Probably just the outer bands causing flooding and mudslides. This is a big issue in Mexico with tropical systems.

Sorry I meant the Oaxaca's state not the city, tho a death in the city is possible due to it's orographic position and the outer rainfall bands from the storm, I don´t know exactly the place where the death was reported other than the state.

Yes it is, rainfall acumulation its a big issue here in Mexico due to it's orography that causes major mudlides,
overflowing rivers and general flooding when a cyclone make landfall or comes near the coast. Even a tropical depression could be more disastrous than a major cane depending of the situation

Second death due to Narda reported also in Oaxaca's state, there are plenty of videos on youtube about this storm and they have many views, I think this take people by surprise, stay safe there! Narda still have some days to come and more people will be affected.

Damn, death toll increased to 6 by this storm, 2 in Jalisco, 1 in Guerrero, and 1 in Colima, it appears all were mans from 17 to 30 years old and the majority died from strong currents in rivers, and lagoons also from mudlides and one bridge that collapsed above a river overflooded. Almost no one expected this storm or its potential damage due to it's fast movement so many people were taken by surprise and that's why there were many deaths.

we were fine in marina. there was one gust, when the statue fell, which was 71 kts measured in sabalo district.. the rest was 50 and under.
the damages were minimal. some plywoods blew statue fell and was righted so storm would leave, and a roof blew off a commercial building.
didnt even see much flooding in centro or other areas prone to that.
