At this state, this system may just be too broad to develop. What circulation it has is highly elongated and poorly-defined, and the associated convection is poorly organized. The intensity guidance and globals are all less enthusiastic on development; I don't see it becoming anything more than a minimal tropical storm if it does indeed develop.

Down to 70%. Oh this season ... :lol:

Recent satellite data indicate that the wind field of a broad area
of low pressure located several hundred miles southwest of the
southern tip of the Baja California peninsula remains elongated, and
the system does not have a well-defined center. In addition, the
associated shower and thunderstorm activity has not increased in
organization. Although the window of opportunity for development is
decreasing, a tropical depression is still likely to form by tonight
or on Sunday while the system moves northward at 5 to 10 mph. By
Sunday night or Monday, however, additional development is not
expected due to cooler waters and stronger upper-level winds.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...high...70 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...high...70 percent.

I'm afraid we won't see even a TD out of this unless it gets its act together as quickly as possible overnight through Sunday. Hopefully it still becomes a TD but is not a name-stealer, better a short-lived TD than a bust. It's rare to see 90% busts

Hurricanes are an amazing natural phenomena. While many are spiraling pits of evil that kill people or cause devastation, some are tame and stay clear of land.

I wish for you to :Bcool:

Had its chance and missed it. Not uncommon for mid-October.

Yup. Deactivated according to the NRL Monterey TC page, and rightfully so.
