NHC nudged the cone back westward. Center might come in to the Panama City area but lets hope it doesn't do something stupid like get stronger and wrap around the center more.

Nestor is starting to remind me of Debby in 2012. It mostly consisted of a giant band of rain along the peninsula all the way up into the panhandle.

The structure is way too broad and asymmetric for Nestor to significantly intensify; especially in this atmospheric environment.

Nice hook echo just north of Plant City and Lakeland.

My posts are my own personal opinion, defer to the National Hurricane Center (NHC) and other NOAA products for decision making during hurricane season.

Looking like convection trying to wrap around the northwest side.

Confirmed tornado at KLAL, Lakeland Linder Airport, and reports of an overturned semi on I-4.

Here near Keaton Beach Big Bend maybe 3 hours east of Panama City. Although NWS said 30-40 mph sustained gusts 50+ haven't had more than a balmy breeze yet (lotsa heavy rain now though) and I have this (hopeful?) feeling it may stay that way, under 20mph anyway.

It's like the lopsided storm has a huge elongated eye and we could be in it the entire pass thru sort of. Weird storm.

Meanwhile, Weather channel graphics depicting wind gusts 50-60 at 6am in Appalachicola, which is halfway between here and Panama City.

some bubbling of convection with a center reformation to the east some. looks like it will come in east of track.

probably Apalachicola is.. maybe slide along the coast into the big bend.

alot of surface obs with sustained in the 45 to 50 mph range offshore with gusts to 60mph.

This is news. The 8AM Keaton Beach (Big Bend) sustained wind forecast changed 50% in the last hour, from 20 mph then to 30 mph then.

Had to evacuate about 500 people to safety just after 22:30 here at work. We had to shelter in place here at the Amazon warehouse off I4 tonight due to the tornado that hit lakeland airport, this is video from I4 of someone driving through debris from the tornado flying around here in Plant City/ Lakeland (exit 25-27ish)

The tornado flipped at semi at MM27, just about 1.5 miles east and also took the roof off of Kathleen Middle School

All safe and back to work now

So far have not seen any severe weather in Panama City but you can definitely tell this system is tropical in nature. Our temperature went from 59 at 5pm to 68.5 currently. The pressure here is down to 1004mb, highest wind gust at my house 28mph and highest I have seen in our area 44mph at St. George Island.
