Let's have a big thank you to our friend CrazyC83 that gave us all the data from the missions that he always does in a great way.

Yall!! This is my kinda wind... that tropical air feels so good. We getting some rain too, but me & my tequila are perfectly fine atm. I'll report back later if I see a cow or gator flying in the sky... although that could be from the tequila :P

Preliminary footage from Lake Charles suggest the city took a substantial hit this evening. Winds over there are still far less intense than Laura of course.

This would back up the Sabine Pass wind measurements, since Lake Charles is also on the western side.

I'm a bit confused, fourth or seventh?

Named storms vs hurricanes.

I'm in Mauriceville and its getting pretty rough here. This is the worst winds we've had all day. What we had as gusts earlier seem to be pretty constant now.

I’m hoping it will make it here in a couple hours while the Jim Beam is kicking in. Winds are still mostly East and SE though the clouds are moving up from the South.

Hoping you get the fun fringes i enjoy. that's the extent of my wishcasting. good porch sitting booze and bong weather. Hoping for nothing but the best for our Louisiana club. Delta is a degrading storm but it is degrading from a high baseline which means it is still a powerful system.

Right on. With all the threats and close bys, I was hoping to sample a decent TS or 1 or 2 this year, but I’m cool with all we got. One helpful thing for us is that we leave for vacation in Asheville Sunday, and it looks like Delta will surge some warmth up there. I’ve never really seen the fall, and I’m tired of being cooped up. Next week days will be sunny and in the 70’s with nights in the 50’s which is about 10+ average.

Asheville is a very cool place with a great vibe. Lots to do and great food too. If you haven't been to Biltmore I highly recommend it if it's open.

I'm a little jelly...I'd love to have some time off for a road trip.

As per chasers, looking worse than expected based on marginal structure. Solid low cat 2 hit with significant surge issues. Hoping Lake Charles got out alright but looks like at least tons of rain there

Not a meteorologist, in fact more of an idiot than anything. You should probably check with the NHC or a local NWS office for official information.

Yeah Blow. I’ve been once but we usually hang in Cherokee or Waynesville/Maggie Valley. West NC is one of my favorite places. We’ll be at a mountain houae in Rosman, but we plan to spend a couple days in Asheville but primarily outdoor **** because of Covid. Lots of waterfalls and trails and the Arboretum lie ahead. For now, we got two bands and it’s going good. Had to bring the phone in. Haha.

Per law enforcement radio traffic, lots of downed trees around here, including at least one on a house, as well as a number of vehicles in ditches. The wildest call was an officer or deputy radio'ing with a nervous voice that there was a transformer on fire next to a house . . . his own!

Has anybody seen any news on damage in Sabine Pass? I lost power here after the last one due to it.

Not to turn this in to an episode of the Travel Channel but I love the Mountains also. We rented a Villa in North Georgia around Blue Ridge back in July. Had a great time sight seeing and just driving through the Mountains. Been to the Cherokee / Bryson City area many times and rafted in Natakala a bunch.

Enjoy the rest of the storm and have a great time in Asheville.

Thank you. I can't every minute as I have to also work on research reports (one in the publication phase), teach 2 classes and do 1 class.

Officially 100 mph. Many of us (including myself) believe that comes down to 90 mph in post-analysis.
