Agreed (continuing Talkin Tropics thread discussion). And since it's a back-to-back situation for that part of the Gulf, I wonder if we'll get a repeat. Maybe 91L is a little farther south when it goes in, but it's too hard to say yet. What's also unclear is whether 91L is going to move out or stick around. Some of the models have it sticking around, so it remains to be seen if Texas is going to have flash flooding.

Initial coordinates were a bit off (at least on the NRL page), but they corrected it.
Also the winds are now 25kts.

There is definitely light West and SW inflow picking up now. a good pop of convection and it would work to the surface and then off we go..

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

Now, Aric, you know it would be very atypical to not have our usual debates like what you pointed out on here at Storm2K. It is all part of the fun during tropical cyclone season and why I come on here when I can of course!

Hopefully another fun, porch sitting, break the heat, early season appetizer. We've certainly had some nice gusty squally showers setting sail from the west coast of florida pushing into the gulf today. very nice...

This is starting to look serious.
The biggest CAPE is under the heavy convection indicating this is a major feeder band.
AND resulting convection from it, just north of Havana, is getting intense.
