Way, way south of the forecast track.
I would say its moving nearly due west.
That means it avoids the major portion of the forecasted shear due to the TUTT shredder UL Jet.
Stay tuned.

The shear in the southern Bahamas didn't look too bad yesterday when the CMC model insisted a 1012 TD would cross South Florida and ruin WXman57's vacation. The pressure profile is flattening as we speak so if this doesn't get out of the shear in the next 48 hours its likely to open up into a wave anyways.

Josephine died Friday when its circulation dissipated and a new swirl formed to the north. That little swirl is now gone.

PR just lit up.
Not sure what happened to Jo.
Either she got dressed or she got clobbered.

New convection just south of the exposed circulation. If that persisted might it protect it from the shear in the short term and keep it from dissolving?

Looks like the outflow boundary got the swirl.
I have seen many a waves get blasted on the SE side of a TUTT only to develop when they get on the SW side.
Oh, and by the way, that TUTT is getting a ton of convection on the west side.
May not last long. When the TUTT goes, the shear goes.
Looks like the AWB is building up.

Fun little storm to track, certainly defied initial predictions and models.

So glad it’s gone now, since the hurricanes are going to start popping big time sometime during the next two weeks. It’s gonna be brutal!

That outflow boundary looks like it completely took out what was left of the LLC earlier.

Good call by model guidance. As expected. Conditions may become more conducive in a few days, but there won't be much left of Josephine to take advantage of it.

On to the next one.

You can literally see the exact moment where the LLC goes poof. Very impressive death I must say.

That was certainly a pretty great example of a collapsing LLC. However, I'm not entirely sure that regeneration is completely off the table, especially considering how it's started to bounce a bit back from its nonexistent appearance a couple of hours ago. Convection is also sprouting primarily to the northeast and east of the remnant center, which is impressive considering it's just a bit after the diurnal minimum. We'll see if Josephine can manage to pulse itself enough over the next few days to get into that more favorable area for regeneration.

Josephine was just the appetizer for the full course feast it's looking like we are due to get, and I don't think the hurricane prone coastlines are particularly hungry for that sort of meal

Not a meteorologist, in fact more of an idiot than anything. You should probably check with the NHC or a local NWS office for official information.

Jo keeps firing convection with a LL vort.
Directly south of the TUTT now and the TUTT is filling in with convection.
Shear beginning to drop on the SW side of the TUTT.
Could be interesting this time tomorrow.

Right on schedule.
On the SW side of a decaying TUTT.
Shear has dropped and our little girly has a swirly.

King Tutt is dead, King Tutt is dead.
Long live Josephine.
