Pressure has remained constant around 1010 mbar and so far there’s no sign of an LLC.

Based on IR analysis, they need to be flying south of 20N to close it off.

So far by looking at the recon it looks like the circulation is broad, I do see some NW winds to the west of the recon off of the MX coast.

Does anyone think Victoria could see a direct hit?

Nice thermal structure per AMSU analysis.
Looking good for development.

Wonder if the forecasters at the NHC will forego the PTC Fourteen and go to "Nicholas" shortly?

Pretty much sitting under a broad nearly closed-off anticyclone.
Very well structured poleward outflow channel driven by a Rossby Wave over the eastern Seaboard.
Any kind of quick deepening of the surface low and it'll pull deep moisture from the EPAC.
Like I said before, this one my have a few surprises up its sleeves.

Looks like if it does hit Victoria I may just get some winds and no rain. I thought the moisture was going to be very high for Texas but I guess the dry air will win?

Yep I agree I've been thinking the whole time this one may overperform. Hopefully not but we'll see

I am in no way a professional. Take what I say with a grain of salt as I could be totally wrong. Please refer to the NHC, NWS, or SPC for official information.

They did find some TS winds on their way in. Wouldn't be surprised but they might just go with TD.

They will only designate it Nicholas if they find a closed circulation and sustained gale-force winds.

They removed the PTC announcement from their website.
