The outage tracker doesn't seem to be working for me. It usually shows yellow and red triangles where power outages are. It isn't shows those for me. Is it working for other people?

Well my car took a dive on me yesterday evening so was busy working on it. Just caught up, but hope all people along the C/NE TX and SWLA are doing okay, thanks for the updates on a lot of your guys locations have family in Port Author. Cousin says they are getting drenched for the last 5 or so hours and so pretty decent wind gusts. They still have power but it was in and out a few times.

The tracker I saw said Matagorda county was about 97% out but two thirds still have power in Houston.
Not too bad considering the center didn't make a bee line inland.

I'm in the center of Nicholas now. Wind is calm. No sign of Josh Morgerman. Can't see my rain gauge yet, but it looks like only about 3 inches of rain in SW Houston. Rain is ending across most of Houston now. Probably had some wind gusts 50-60 mph. South Houston had a 34kt (39 mph) sustained wind overnight. Otherwise, just gusts across the city. No sign of sustained wind to TS strength around the center of Nicholas now. Still seeing gusts to 45 mph NE of the center and TS wind gusts in squalls east of Houston and across SW Louisiana.

Saw Nicholas turning and strengthening as I was getting ready for bed at 10:15 last night. Got dressed and made 2 runs to Kroger for generator gas. Didn't get to bed until 12:30. Looks like that effort kept the lights on here.

Agreed, almost a carbon copy of Humberto. A little less shear and this would have been a much bigger issue.

Looks like windshear and dry air really annihilated Nicholas after landfall.

My posts are my own personal opinion, defer to the National Hurricane Center (NHC) and other NOAA products for decision making during hurricane season.

Where have you been?

I said yesterday, there's no doubt in my mind that if shear hadn't been there, this system could have been a major, at least a Cat 3. We got very lucky in Houston.

Radar eyes are messing with me again this morning, i swear that spin is heading back into the GOM, i know some models predicted maybe that would happen. *bears watching* I guess. got about 4" of rain here in downtown, 35.2 MPH winds sustained at peak.
