Last recon flight found 40kt winds and steady pressure falls over a naked swirl. With convection popping over and near the center, may be a little stronger now.

It was a little late with the burst over the center but unfortunately it will still be enough to keep Peter on the map.

I think this will have a better chance later on, after the 5 day forecast range. Once it clears the TUTT, there may be a chance for it to get going but it remains to be seen what it looks like after the TUTT.

I am in no way a professional. Take what I say with a grain of salt as I could be totally wrong. Please refer to the NHC, NWS, or SPC for official information.

Good job Peter! You finally have convection within 50 miles of the LLC!

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

I think the TUTT is already weakening there may be a trough later but Peter has been making a naked run to the west.

Looks like it has cut off and is rolling west in the water vapor imagery.

The problem with these types of setups is it can be a win (most of the time) or lead to trouble down the road. If Peter decouples, which is not even and if now and the center “jets” west only to reform the environment may improve with Peter closer to the CONSUS. I’ve been away. Is there a second front coming?

The posts or stuff said are NOT an official forecast and my opinion alone. Please look to the NHC and NWS for official forecasts and products.

Model Runs Cheat Sheet:
GFS (5:30 AM/PM, 11:30 AM/PM)
HWRF, GFDL, UKMET, NAVGEM (6:30-8:00 AM/PM, 12:30-2:00 AM/PM)
ECMWF (1:45 AM/PM)
TCVN is a weighted averaged

Opinions my own.

I don't think any models are even hinting at a reform now, though of course there's always the possibility of them being wrong.

It kinda looks like the center is trying to rotate back into the bigger blob of convection...or it could be the angle of the sun. If this were to reform east, wouldn't that keep it a little further from the shear?

Did anyone else notice that energy type wave that propagated out from Peter? I forgot what it is called, but it looks like something similar to what you would see if a bomb went off. I still say the LLC looks like it is rotating counter clockwise. It is definitely not moving wnw

Is it possible that Peter and Rose might meet up and do a little Fujiwara, if they both survive the interaction??? I don't even know if they both will be a TC still or just 2 remnants.
