Ah well, another year of storms getting ripped apart in the MDR, curious as we are not far past the climatological peak of the season. Has there been a persistent TUTT over the MDR these last couple of years?

That down burst really did kill the LLC.

Any bets on if both names get used again in the same year?

Peter is turning the convection back on.

That’s how the naming lists work, so if 2027 is active enough we’ll see them both again.

Peter is petering out.

Upper right frame is Peter heading into the shear, and, well...

Not dead yet. Circulation is getting elongated though. Center might reform in the convection? Peter is a train wreck....MGC

Peter has revived itself. I find it interesting why convection is peaking near DMIN and not DMAX.

wxman57 wrote:I'll be interested to read the NHC's discussion on why Peter is still classified a TS when recon couldn't even find a 30kt wind.

Turns out they just can't believe it's not a TS, even though the plane can't find any evidence. They say they are being generous in keeping it a TS because the plane only sampled the area 150 miles NE of the center and not the ones out to 300-400 miles out. I say, go with the evidence and not generosity. Their marine forecast has 35kt winds 130nm NE of the center, where the plane found 25kt winds. Doesn't make any sense.

Seems like their sense meter has been out of whack a lot here lately.

Checked in at sunset and there is still a shallow pressure profile obviously.
One more good blast of shear would probably finish the job but ULL is about done.
HMON had this as a 1012 low in the Bahamas which would be worth watching.

Still a low level cloud spin being sustained with the displaced cloud tops evidence of outflow.
Must be pretty close to 1012 mb by now.

I think Peter is no longer a tropical depression. Very recently it appears that Peter is open to its west.

A circulation that poorly defined does not meet the definition of a tropical cyclone. I think it should have been called a remnant low at least 12 hours ago.
