About the game:
SportingNews.com's Basic Fantasy Football is a fun, free-to-enter, market-based fantasy football game. The object of the game is to score the most Sporting News Points (TSNP) with your team of football players over the course of the 2003 pro football season. Football players are assigned an opening salary and earn TSNP according to how they perform in real-life games.
You'll assemble and manage a roster of 7 players within the limits of your salary cap of 35,000,000 Sporting News Dollars (TSND). Once the season starts, players' salaries will fluctuate based on a stock-market style system of supply and demand, with those players in greater demand increasing their salary during the course of the season.

To assemble your winning team, you click on "buy and sell players." You can research which players you wish to buy by using there tools to sort by a variety of statistics or to sort by position.
Your roster must consist of 7 players, consisting of 2 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 Team D. With $35,000,000 to start out, and many players to choose from, it takes some strategizing to pick the best bang for your buck at each position.
Trading Players:
In Basic Fantasy Football, a trade simply means when you sell a player from your team. If you're not happy with your player's performance, or if his value is dropping, or if your player is on a bye week, and you have enough trades to do it, you probably want to sell that player and pick up a new one. And selling a player is quite simple in this game! You just need to click on a player's price to sell them from your team.
To search for a player to buy, use the player sort options located below your roster on Your Team page. You can sort by a variety of stats, or by last name. When you've found the player you want, click on the position at which you want to buy him. Be sure you currently have room for him on your roster at that position; if you don't, the transaction will fail.
You get 15 trades to start the season in Basic Football. If you'd like, you can purchase more for $1 or less per trade!
