Interesting to see that TD 27 did become a tropical storm before dissipating in the center of the Caribbean Sea.

Perhaps I'm missing something? I see many links to "Forecast Verification" but the links just take me to the NHC Graphics archives. There's no verification of forecast tracks that I can find on those web pages. When I think "verification", I think average forecast error at 12, 24, 36, 48, 72 hrs., etc., up to 120 hrs.

Yes there are no verification at those.I have to change the word there to graphics although at the lists at first page and at the top of this page it is fine as it says graphic.

I was surprised that Cindy was listed as downgraded to a TD at 06/12z when at 1217z the Mobile Airport (well inland) reported a 36 kt sustained wind (06 / 1217: 150 / 36).

As expected, Cindy is upgraded to hurricane and this makes 3 consecutive years that the NHC has to upgrade a tropical storm to a hurricane in their final report. Erika, 2003; Gaston, 2004; and Cindy, 2005.
