#1 Postby EDR1222 » Tue Mar 28, 2006 7:44 am

I saw this article and wanted to post it to see what everyones take on this is. I thought it was a pretty bold prediction for them to make.

If this has already been posted, I apologize and you can go ahead and lock the thread.

I like how at the end the NWC guy completely shred's the Accuweather publicity "Senior Met"'s opinion without mercy.

Best part of that read IMO.

already posted, but that article is way wrong.

During recent decades, New Englanders mostly have experienced only the remnants of storms that hit other parts of the country, such as Hurricane Gloria in 1985 and Hurricane Bob in 1991, which brought heavy rains, localized flooding and power outages.

Bob was a Category 2 when it hit Cape Cod. Not a "remmnant"

he was almost the first tc to hit spain. It died just before he hit the coast, I am sure they did feel the effects from it though.

The darker yellow on the Unisys map means it's an extratropical storm, and there's no distinction given between tropical and extratropical depressions. Bob was extratropical long, long before it reached Europe. It also would have struck Portugal, not Spain.

LOL well I didn't know about that unisys maps did not show a distinction between the two.

Here are two different years in which New England was hit by two powerful storms:
