my understanding is it is about to make landfall and the plane may not get to the center before it does.

SouthFlorida...just so you know, the lat/long values are given in hh-mm format rather than decimal format. If you look at lines 0152-0153, for example, you'll see that at 80 degrees west it goest from 79 deg-59min to 80 deg-01 min. For Google earth if you enter the measurement with a space ("79 59"), it will automatically convert to decimal form for you.

Thanks for posting the maps!

Not quite 20 minutes . . . the official center is still probably about 15nm off the coast, +-5 or so, so maybe another hour or thereabouts until the center of circ makes landfall. North "eyewall" is already nearing the coast (about 2nm off), but as long as part of the eye is still over the water (preferably including the center), the plane can make the fix (and hopefully drop).

They are not in the center as of yet (datawise anyway . . . they probably are in real life, but we don't know that for sure). Very shortly they will be.

And sorry about that last statement, I though you were talking about the landfall of the eye, not the plane reaching the center.
