Any where to go when the site's down?

#1 Postby angelwing » Wed Jul 22, 2009 8:53 pm

For the past 3 hours I could not get in, I kept getting the site down message, is there another spot where the folk go? I think there was a myspace? Any help would be appreciated!

Some go to the chat area when the site is down, but if the site is down there is no back door in.

There is always twitter, facebook, or myspace. As well as chat.

Thanks fact! I do follow in twitter, just didn't see a site down notice, so I thought it may have been only me.

Thanks again!

We're still investigating the cause but it looks like a memory leak in one of the programs we use. What happens is all of the server's memory gets used and then the server starts shutting down. Jan (x-y-no) is on top of it and we'll keep everyone posted.

To enter the chatroom with Java, use this link (it's the link when you click on "chatroom" at the top of the page):

http://www.esper.net/pjirc/storm2k.html

After you enter the room you will get an automatic nickname. something like storm2k####. Please change your nick to your board nickname. To change that to the name you want type /nick your name (eg /nick CajunMama) when you enter the room. If you are asked to change to your nick 3 times and you don't you will be kicked from the room.

If you connect through mIRC or Pirch, you'll need to select the EsperNet server and then type: /join #Storm2k
If you have it set to automatically join the current Storm2k channel, go ahead and enter that way if you'd like. If in mIRC, click on File, then Select Server, and under "IRC Network:" find the EsperNet server and click on it.

windows.esper.net

If you have any problems, please reply and state your problem in as much detail as possible, and someone will help you as soon as possible.

Bookmark your link of preference so that you'll always have it if the board happens to go down again.
