Texas Winter 2012-2013

#1 Postby Portastorm » Sat May 05, 2012 10:26 am

... It shall be known as The Winter of Heat Miser's (Wxman57) Discontent!

Let the discussion begin ... and yes, I haven't posted much yet about it but I'm feeling pretty good that we're going to have LOTS to talk about between Thanksgiving 2012 and Easter 2013!

If we have a El Nino by this winter, it could a cold one. Somewhere in the line of 1972-1973, 1976-1977, or 2009-2010. If that is the case, we could see sleet, ice, and snow on top of multiple freezes.

Booooo! Perhaps El Nino will fade quickly after peaking in September, keeping Texas nice and warm next winter.

So you want a winter that allows disease carrying mosquitoes to be a bigger problem. I think we had enough warm winter. Time to bring in the cold winter. :cold: :grrr:

Awesome. Winter talk already. Many hot days between now and then. Nothing could be worse than last winter. The blue colors on that map sure look pretty, don't they?

Yes! But in a month and a week+- the days will start getting shorter  almost to the top of the hill! (Cold-monger optimism). Winter is never truly over thanks to a freezer bunker at an undisclosed PWC location in which us members post from during the dog days of summer.
