Down to one lane westbound on I-12 near mile marker 79 NW of Slidell due to fallen tree... I am sure there are many other reports like this around the region.

I love the feeling of a hurricane or tropical storm and I do feel it here in Mobile. However, this is absolutely nothing compared to our normal afternoon storms. In low areas there is some flooding, but in most of the city we are just fine. Kind of like a good day to cook a pot roast ---steady soft rain with some occasional gusts of wind. I should never say this, but I wish it could have been just a little stronger ---- that's just because I'm kind of a hurricane addict.

I-610 underpass is underwater and can't keep barricades up because of the wind, per WDSU.

Still quiet and Breezy in BR.

My parents in Lafourche Parish though, I feel for them. They got the left side.. now its moving west, and southwest, it might dance around them and hit them a few times.

Power is completely out there, they said its bad.

A feeder band just moved through here at Mobile. Heavy precipitation and possibly gusts to 45 mph, but that's nothing compared to the things happening to our neighbors in southwest Louisiana.

Yeah, this rain band is pretty stormy and it looks like it's just going to keep rotating in from the Gulf through Baldwin County and into Mobile County for awhile. This may be the bulk of our rain. But, as you said, we were spared the nastiness our neighbors in Louisiana are facing tonight. Hope everyone there stays safe!

Just saw on Weather channel 230,000 without power in New Orleans now. Lots of main road closures all over the area. New Orleans is just now getting hit with a heavier band per reporting and radar.

Worrisome for all in Isaac's path is how he seems to be still out over water and hugging the coastline. Could mean a long steady rain event. Please stay safe all.

In NO in the CBD just a couple of blocks from the Superdome, overlooking Poydras and watching the storm. Very lucky, still have power, and will hopefully remain on. High winds and lots of rain. Power looks like it is out towards uptown. Can still see the lights on towards the Quarter, with the lights on at Marriott and the Sheraton.

Baton Rogue. We got our first tiny feeder band. It's very quiet out here, we are just patiently waiting.

In Larose and Racelend where my parents are, however, it is BAD. Its completely raging.

At my home in Pass Christian, live waterfront in the Timber Ridge area, tide has been rising fast over the last couple of hours, easily a couple of feet or a bit more, I would estimate it to be up a good 7-8 feet overall at this point. Flooding as far as the eye can see. Heavy squalls with heavy gusts, some trees down back here, waiting and holding my breath for high tide to coincide with all this later on this morn. Take care everybody.

Per Mississippi Public Broadcasting: Parts of Mississippi 603 and 604 in Hancock County are under water, as well as portions of US 90 in Harrison County. D'Iberville police chief saying that they have 6-7 feet of water in some areas of town.

I'm at a loss for much information in Louisiana, so peeps in that area, post your obs if you can.

Still here guys. And I can tether my phone on my computer after the power goes out to keep some internet.

Here are my obs:

Me, in Baton Rouge

Gusty wind now. Looks like some gutters on houses are about to go. Wouldn't be surprised if trees have already gone. It's raining intermittently, sometimes hard, but the wind is the real story. Clouds are racing by. Still have power.

Parents, in Raceland and Cut off, as of 30 minutes ago

Very quiet. They thought it was over. I had to be the bearer of bad news and let them know they were in the eye. Powers out for all of them in Terebonne and Lafourche. They said last night was very rough with a ton of rain and wind.

Braithwait, Louisiana

Someone is stuck on top of their roof. They took a cell phone camera photo and tweeted it.
