I don't consider it "shut down" here in Florida until all of October and part of November are gone......

Let's see if Nadine will last long enough for 96L to possibly develop.

For all this frustration, Nadine deserves to be retired. Of course, that is not a legitimate case.

From Stewart's latest:

THE CONVECTIVE ORGANIZATION OF NEVER-ENDING NADINE HAS MADE A
COMEBACK THIS EVENING WITH A NEARLY CLOSED RING OF CONVECTION...

AFTER 48 HOURS...NADINE IS EXPECTED TO MOVE OVER SSTS COLDER THAN 20C...
WHICH SHOULD FINALLY BRING ABOUT THE PERMANENT DEMISE OF THIS
RESILIENT AND LONG-LASTING TROPICAL CYCLONE.

I just love Stewart's discussions when he gets on a roll!

NEVER-ENDING NADINE
NOMADIC NADINE
NADINE HAS FOUND A SWEET SPOT OF LOWER VERTICAL WIND SHEAR
THE PERMANENT DEMISE OF THIS RESILIENT AND LONG-LASTING TROPICAL CYCLONE.

I think there is a thread somewhere in the archives with highlights of the funniest discussions like the "demise of Franklin; the storm not the forecaster" and many others...

I think he said "permanent" since once before they stopped issuing advisories only to have to restart them again.

It sure would be nice if they were still doing Global Hawk missions, so we had some real data about Nadine and her "eye feature"

Not only a record for the longest lived tropical cyclone, but maybe the furthest distance travelled (Hurricane Faith, 1966 12,700 km) Nadine has travelled 12,007 km, so only 693 km to go

Current Track :darrow:

I'm pretty sure the Azores have had enough of Na-Na. Maybe they'll have a going away party?

Anybody have a map showing the full, uninterrupted track from first TD 'til now? Something that isn't 1.5Mb (or bigger)?

I'm sorry to say it again, but Nadine has just been so fascinating! Not getting anyone's heart racing, but a ton of fun to watch her twist and turn.
