Cookbook by group of Saskatchewan women beats out Michelle Obama
FOAM LAKE, Sask. - A group of grandmothers from Saskatchewan have the recipe for success with their cookbook written to raise awareness about prostate cancer.
The Breast Friends have donated close to $1.4 million to cancer causes through sales of their series of six cookbooks.
One of those books, "Breast Wishes for the Men in Our Lives'', won a Gourmand World Cookbook Award in Paris over the weekend.
Anne Reynolds, one of the winners, says the cookbook contains recipes from family and friends and includes sections on sandwiches and grilling.
The book beat an entry by Michelle Obama, wife of the U.S. president.
Most of the women in the group live in the Foam Lake area of eastern Saskatchewan.
