As our friend Frank P has shown us (thank you sir for those great videos!), conditions along portions of the Gulf Coast are nasty. However, it has nothing to do with a tropical depression or storm forming. The latest discussion out of NHC details a frontal wave (or low) along the stationery front in southeast Louisiana. That is the culprit for this nasty weather ... that and Gulf moisture flowing into it.

This is some weather we have here. Feels a bit tropical depressionish to me. Getting from car to house and I'm soaked. It hasn't let up all day. Windy.
Woot! Glad I'm not working today..

The weather over here near Mobile/Fairhope area has been quite nasty. Lots of hard pour rain. We just got a slight break a few minutes ago but some of the low lying areas around here having water flowing from the ditches to the street. Especially out toward the country near Fairhope. Nothing like doing last minute back to school shopping in a major downpour. As for winds it is not that windy. Just lots of rain.

I am with Frank regardless whether the NHC says tropical or not it had the feeling. It's now 6:30PM and the sun is shining like nothing never happened just like after a regular tropical system.I was figuring today winds 30-40mph with some gust this went on for about 1 1/2 hrs almost non-stop then it just died .The FIM and GFS models both broke off something from 92L and had a forcast up this way for today.

After a stormy two days along the Gulf Coast in Alabama we end the day with this beautiful site off of the Mobile Bay.

Gulfport Airport reported 4.6 inches of rain in one hour today. I had a little over two inches here at the house overnight. It was beautiful evening......MGC

92 carries on as a wave axis with a slight hint of spin on satellite headed towards the Mexico/Texas border.
