Was searching Google for weather forums. And this was one of the results, and one of the ones I tried out, and also ended up being my favorite. That is why I am still here.

There is a tropical wave moving off of Africa with a 30% chance of development within 48 hours. Just wanted to let you know so you can create a blogging page.

Thanks.

Please Let Us Know

Found the site through Hurr Tracker app for iPad. I live in Kitty Hawk, NC, so storm watching is slightly more than a past time. Always looking for ways to learn as well. Happy to discover the site!

I found Storm2k from a mention on another weather forum. I think it was the old Pensacola News Journal's PB bulletin board, which I had been visiting since Hurricane Ivan made a mess of my favorite beach destination. Lurked and read for a while, and joined Storm2k on Sept. 21, 2005... watching Hurricane Rita as it headed straight for Beaumont. Followed by Ike, of course... I am not ready for another one any time soon!

googled "hurricane forecast 2013"
It had been on page 2 when I did it originally. Now it's not even in the top 10 pages.

I know just about enough to sound like I know what I'm talking about sometimes. But for your safety please follow the nhc for truly professional forecasting. :D

I found you a while ago after Stormpulse changed their business model. I searched Duckduckgo for hurricane tracking models and found this site. I lurked for quite some time and just recently decided to register.

I signed up for this site during the big exodus from the Palm Beach Post board when they switched up their board format and we all hated it. But I remember lurking for a season or two before that, and I think from hearing about it from over at the Lowes board or TWC first. I'm not sure if it was a direct result of the exodus that the membership really jumped up, or if it was already getting started up from a group of those folks and the Lowes board folks coming together to create a new/better site for us all to play in for tropical weather sooner.
geez....that was so many years ago!! I think this account name is my second one here when we changed it up for some reason. But I've been chatting with this same group of folks for more than a decade! --wow
Pretty neat actually to see some of the posters go through high school, on to college, and even graduate as pro mets now!

My first postings on weather boards actually started the season of Hurricane Fran when I lived in North Carolina - back in 1996.

I know this is old, but I wanted to find a hurricane forum to be able to track and discuss storms with fellow hurricane nuts. I searched "hurricane forums" in Google, and after some scrolling down I found S2K. I've been roaming the threads ever since. (I've only been a member for a few weeks).

2004 I was watching Ivan head toward the gulf and was on the old WWL tropical weather board and someone posted a link. Been here ever since.

I'm not a meteorologist, I'm an electronics engineer. While I can probably fix your toaster oven, you're not going to learn about storms from me!

New Mexico had no hurricanes. Then I moved to NC right before Fran.....

found it from a link on another message board

oddly, have been here for 15 years, just three weeks before the last hurricane to hit the east coast of Florida....crazy how many I have tracked with y'all since then that somehow avoided the state (well at least as a hurricane or on this side of the state)

I don’t know if this is relevant anymore, but I was recommended through the tropical weather subreddit on reddit during Hurricane Matthew. I lurk on the boards, but don’t really post.
