Let's start this annual ACE thread with the Southern Hemisphere that has been so far below average. Let's see how the rest of the basins do in 2017.

Mind boggling. The SHEM should be more than halfway of it's yearly ACE from MAUE's site.

More than half of the SHEM season has gone by and it's very low in ACE.

I wonder why is a difference between Weatherbell 21.4575 and CSU at 17.7?

The SHEM should get good ACE units in the next couple of days with TC DEBBIE.

The South Hemisphere ACE has risen a lot in recent weeks with a few strong cyclones.ERNIE and COOK are adding units as of this post.Maybe WPAC begins to add units soon if models are right.

North Atlantic is on board with units from brief ARLENE but it may get some more if they fix things on post season.

EPAC could see a pretty good jump with now TS Adrian, could become a hurricane or even maybe major hurricane in the coming days.

Quite something that the WPAC is only at 1.045.

Normal YTD from Maue has it at 20 and CSU at 18.9.

Yes the globe as a whole is relatively very quiet. For 2017 total output is only half of what it should be, not sure what signal that is but something definitely worth watching if some sort of cycle is happening. The EPAC and Atl will start soon so lets see if they can make up the deficits, if not then it will be some kind of down global year.

EPAC getting a few ACE units from Beatriz but so far both storms that had formed have been weak and of short duration causing that basin to not get more ACE.

WPAC is getting a few ACE units from TS MERBOCK but still is a little below average for mid June.

The two storms that developed in EPAC (CALVIN) and in WPAC (MERBOK) were very short lived ones that got minimal ACE units for their basins.
