Probably from the latest radar. There is also concern of flooding, don't forget there is a flood watch. Training is serious business in already saturated ground.
Pouring at the airport right now.

Pouring again in north FW.
Loving the CASA radar app. Neat to compare with RadarScope. Airport appears to be getting it hard.

By time the rain reading comes in, it will say a record has been broken for the wettest February ever.

Radar estimates have well over an inch over most of the airport area.

Re: Texas Winter 2017-2018
DFW just blew the record. Received 2.03" the past hour...up to ~9.13" for the month
Edit: 9.13
Still pouring at the airport. Wettest month since November 2015. We still got way to go yet, might be wettest month since May 2015 by midnight.

Just to put it into perspective. Our wettest season is 11.46" total (March-April-May) for spring. We've nearly received an entire spring worth of rain in a month. Drought cancel in northeast quarter of Texas
The SOI correlation to DFW qpf is remarkable. The SOI is to rain, as the EPO is to cold.
Just look at the monthly SOI and you can almost pick out the wet or dry months.

Some bad luck, a bit closer to the SE ridge and push back from the cooler air boundary. In the winter time -PNA can often benefit more the northern half of the state vs the southern half which tends to do somewhat better with a +PNA. Just a general obscure view. I often look at the I-10 corridor (or close) with linkage to the southeast US climate at times.
