Are you on any NHC naming list?
just wondering who on these forums are on an official nhc naming list, or have been and are retired.
i am.
east pacific, 2018. (lane)
to be fair i was a little surprised to find myself on the naming lists, especially for the north american region. i never thought my name would be used for a cyclone anywhere in the world, never mind in the south pacific/aussie region!
what about you?

I'm on next year's EPAC list. My middle name used to be on the Atlantic list, but has been retired.

My middle name is on the 2016 list. Variations of my first name have been used but never my actual name.

My first name is on this year's list, Chris. My middle name is Edward, so the French version Edouard is in use again in 2020. My last name isn't in use on any NHC name list, but it is on a Southern Hemisphere list.

Re: Are you on any NHC naming list?
Yes, I am, and so is my parents' entire family of 6. We take up 5 names, as I share my Dad's first name.
Here's something really cool...all three female names in my family are retired category 5 hurricanes: two were in the ATLC basin - Camille (1969, my oldest sister), Anita (1977, my older sister), and one was in the EPAC, Patricia (2015, my Mom).
Another semi-interesting point...had the wave that became TS Tony at 00Z on OCT 24 2012 become a NS a mere 36 hours earlier, then it would have been named Sandy (which became a NS at 18Z on OCT 22) instead, and both my father's and my names would have been used for the system that became Hurricane/Superstorm Sandy. This would have retired 5 out of 6 members of my family, leaving only my brother, Kevin, on the EPAC name list..

Both names are on different lists. My first name is on this year's Eastern Pacific list while my second/middle name is on the 2017 Atlantic list

My name was used once and retired in 2001. Nice looking storm at her peak, and I ditched work for the day to play around on the beach as she went by

I AM on this years name list. Michael is usually not a concerning event with past years it was used or didn't even get named in some cycles.
I am waiting for the year that Pokemon names are used for the naming list.
Who knows anything is possible when the millennials take over naming rights, but anyways I digress.

LOL, a lot of the names on the 2018 list are perennial duds. How many Albertos, Beryls and Chris's have we had that amounted to very little? I feel like we've been running through those for decades. And then! Debby and Ernesto, two of the biggest flame-outs of the modern era.
