In regards to Ntx post, the MJO will be favorable for more storms in the beg of Oct as well. Combo this will troughs passing through and we should see some rain for the majority of the state.

Man, I've just consistently been getting sick over the last couple of months here. Maybe it's something in the air here in Louisiana I'm currently recovering from the flu. I hope everyone is doing all right with all the rain east and southeast Texas has been getting.

I would hedge bets on ragweed. August and September is peak ragweed season, many confuse it for cold and sinus. Quite prevalent in the southeast US where summer rains keeps it lush and green for late summer/early fall pollination!

It's always lush and green in Louisiana, if you're allergic to anything that grows, it's tough.

Is I69/US59 over the west fork of the San Jacinto north of Humble open? I've got a friend who needs to travel to MD Anderson Sunday and hard to tell if it is the feeder roads beneath the highway closed or if it is the highway itself.

I’m with ya brotha. I’m here with the bourbon and all day football.

This is my first glance back here in quite a while. Every NWS AFD I skip to end of Long Term to get any sign of fall. I’m dying here. It’s gotta be here soon, the climate has no choice. It just seems to be taking forever for the first taste.

So I’ll go back to the bourbon and football knowing fall has no choice but to arrive somewhat soon.

September update for NTX

Sept 1st thru the 21st = 2nd hottest on record so far
The average normal high for this period is 86.3
The average high this month 95.6
20 of 21 days so far with a high of 90 or better

September 1939 hottest on record with 28 of 30 days @ 90+ degrees, which is also record most for September.

Our forecast for the next 10 days call for a high of 90 or better, so we could break 2 records, hottest, and most 90+ days.
On a bright note, Winter 1939/1940 was slightly cooler than average.

Unfortunately this tropical ridge is going to be a PITA until the Atlantic hurricane season comes to an end.

December 25th had a strong cold front push in, DFW recorded 1.33" of rain before it changed over to snow, 0.4" recorded. December 26 was the coldest day of the month with a high of 32, and we finished December with highs in the 40's.

December still ended a very warm +4 degrees above the monthly mean, and the average high for the month was 62....
