I would say its moving nearly due west.
That means it avoids the major portion of the forecasted shear due to the TUTT shredder UL Jet.

The shear in the southern Bahamas didn't look too bad yesterday when the CMC model insisted a 1012 TD would cross South Florida and ruin WXman57's vacation. The pressure profile is flattening as we speak so if this doesn't get out of the shear in the next 48 hours its likely to open up into a wave anyways.
