Is recon in there right now or is there still a recon planned before landfall?

Recon recently entered the storm and looks to be doing a Southwest to Northeast pass.

Recon should be on top of this thing now. I’m not sure who’s covering it in the recon thread now.

If they don't designated as a category 3 before landfall, I have a pretty good feeling they'll say it was 115 mph in the postseason analysis.

Watching the eastern inner eyewall's multiple attempts to connect on IR is mesmerizing.

Hey Javlin,

Good call on Ft. Morgan yesterday afternoon looking at pressure readings. It was a little too early to say that’s where landfall would be 12 hours later (because you need a little smaller of a window of time). But in this case, landfall (at least touch) is the western side of the Eastern Shore. Old technique but effective.

You captured some pretty powerful winds on this livestream. Your video is very comparable to many of those Hurricane Laura videos. Also kinda reminiscent of that classic 1989 Hurricane Hugo video from Puerto Rico.

There's a decent patch of red on radar to the NE of the eye on shore now over the panhandle. Have there been any tornado warnings for that area? Its gonna be a long day today for the folks in this area.

They need to hit that eastern eyewall while it's still over water if we're going to get an accurate measure of intensity at landfall.

What about me? I brought it up in the first place and said Gulf Shores/Orange Beach.

To be honest they're moving so fast and the wind so strong don't know if you can tell when they pass. I heard the roar from one passing me to the north earlier but don't know that the winds from it were any worse.

New convection screaming out of the NW quad should tighten things up
