Although.....

#22 Postby GulfBreezer » Tue Apr 22, 2003 1:19 pm

Although there has been much talk anout Ana not being an indicator of the coming season, this is just too much for us not to put some stock into what she is actually saying. Last year was a strange one, to say the least. It started off extremely slow and then had to deal with an onslaught of sytems. Two tropical storms here in less than 2 weeks, my lawn still hasn't completely recovered. I think we are on the verge of seeing some very phoenominal weather systems.

Well it looks like i will have too eat my words somewhat..........
Now that its tropical i have no problems with Anna.....I still dont buy the sts classification beeing named though.
Either way this is something to see in April...I love seeing history beeing made and this will go down in history as beeing the earliest tropical system unless SF can find otherwise...For me this is a excellent way to start off the tropical season.....I look forward to the chat session tonight...Its time to kick it up a notch....I hope to see everyone there.. :)

Funny thing is that the UKMET was the BEST model in regards to placement and the slowing of Ana several days before it became an entity of its own accord.

This is a historic event ... Tropical Storm Ana is the FIRST Tropical Storm of record (since 1886) ... I do not have data sets before 1886 ... The Subtropical Storm which developed in April 1992 was the only other one of record (since 1886) to even exist in the Tropical Atlantic in 117 years...

That's true, Mike. I was thought of the UKMET picking up on the stalling of this system a few days ago when the indication of the what the UKMET is showing now... perhaps it will follow more in line with the UKMET rather than the other forecast models.
