Despite never getting to hurricane strength Fay's ACE return is fairly reasonable, now upto 45, about half way to the longer term average.

Definitly, not bad numbers for Fay despite never being a hurricane. As I said earlier in the thread,Fay passed Dolly in the ACE individual systems numbers, considering that Dolly was a hurricane, although it did not lasted long at that status.

I will predict 9.5 Ace for this cyclone. But it could be higher or lower of course.

You have an error in the ACE number for Gustav,0.25 instead its 0.2500.

0.2500 is the same thing as 0.25. ;) I just find it more readable if the useless zeroes are removed.

With 7 named storms we are 41.17% the way to DR.WIlliams Grays forecast of 17 named storms. He must be forecasting one heck of a active second half of the season.

10 NS is totally do able for September, October and the rest of the season as long as we remain in neutral conditions in terms of the ENSO.

In termsof the ACE, to hit thier forecast we do need a few long range trackers to get up to there forecast but its easily possible, just look at 1961 for proof of that.

I forgot to say: in order to use the Excel document just enter the knot values into the "Knots" column on the left; the formulas within will calculate everything else.
