My thoughts are with everyone experiencing distress due to Debby's flooding rains. Here in Jensen Beach (east, central coast) it's been windy with no measurable precip today.

Some obs locally from Stuart, Windham Field Airport:

My posts should NEVER, EVER, EVER be construed as an official forecast as I know virtually nada respecting the finer points of meteorology. Consequently, my posts are obviously NOT endorsed by any professional institution or the good folks at storm2k.org. For official information please refer to the weather gurus at the NHC and NWS.

Tonight I crossed the Courtney Campbell bridge (Tampa Bay), and boy is it a mess!! You can easily tell where the bridge was under water as sea weed, palm particles, garbage, and other debris litters both the side of the road and the center. There are many trees down on the Tampa side of the bridge including one tree that had to have been 5-10 feet in diameter. Crews were slowly making way with the cleanup, but it's going to take quite some time. The Pinellas side of the bridge looks better than the Hillsborough. Waters once again are down to a light chop.

I also went across the Bayside Bridge, but there seems to be no damage there.

In other news, the Skyway is open, but Debby caused the longest ever shutdown of the bridge according to the Tampa Bay Times. It was closed for more than 3 days due to winds greater than 40 mph. A picture of the barren bridge:
