Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've always heard that if a tropical system isn't established (i.e. TS or Cane) when it crosses the Windward Islands into the Caribbean Sea then it has a hard time developing later on.

It usually develop before the islands or waits until in the Western Caribb.

I am going to have to say NEXT for now too. I think we will have to wait another week or two before we see any real Caribbean threats. However, I do expect at least one major in the Caribbean this year (just not from 91L). Let's just hope that major doesn't curve back into the U.S. when it happens.

I am with you. Bring on the next teaser... ..I also expect a major this year but in the GOM.

I think the major that develops in the Caribbean may move into the GOM afterwards.

This is the old John Hope rule. I have heard some at TWC mention it over the years. Claudette in 2003 broke it though. I believe that might have been the last time I heard them mention it in regards to him.

Unless someone plainly passes off something as his own its not plagiarism. It was pretty obvious this came from NHC since it was copied in its entirety, including headers.
