Well, this is post #1000 for the Front Porch!

Raine, so glad to see you back and Dakota is on the road to recovery.
We've been thinking about you ... as I, too, had a prayer list going for my father a while back as well.

Your ordeal seemed to hit me harder due to the fact that my ex-girlfriend's son is also named Dakota, whom I grew to love as my own son (even though I do not have any children) ... and just that circumstance seemed to hit me and how much I miss him as well ...

Again, so glad to see you back here, Raine.

Hi All,

Well I've said it before and I'll say it again, Raine, it's great to see you back. Sit back, relax and have a cup of Earl Grey. ((Hugs))

GBreezer, thanks for the coffee. I need something to wake me up!!!!

Joshua, I hope your day is better today. Forget about all that happened yesterday. Fresh Start

I tried to email Dennis, but there was a sign on his inbox that read "Gone Fishing."

Poppysky, you are so right. So many constructive ideas come from people without filters between their brains and mouths. Guarded words can sometimes stifle creativity.

Well, I better stifle myself and get some work done here.

I've left some snickerdoodles on the banister. Help yourselves.

Take care

Praise be to God, that Raines family is together, happy and healthy again! You have such a special family, I wish we could hug all of you too!

My children got off to Florida without a hitch on Monday. They are in their grandparents bossom, being spoiled rotten, from the reports I get! God is good! He got me through the day of their flights, unscathed, (I panic when they flyalone), and delivered them safely to my family. There were some rough storms, and the turbulance scared the daylights out of the kids, but they are laughing about it now!

Brian and I have been taking advantage of this time alone together, and spending some special evenings together this week. Our friends are wonderful and are keeping our schedules full! (I'm not going to do well, when its empty nest time, I see that already!!!!)

We are expecting Brian's son for the summer, this coming Saturday. This is the boy we've asked you to pray for. His mother is threatening to not send him to be with his dad, and the boy is very torn up, not understanding why his mother would want to keep him from his dad. The law is on our side, she suffers great penalty if she does not put him on that plane, but their son is who is suffering daily, confused, and lonely. Please pray with us that the mother does the right thing for her child, and the law abiding thing, and sends him, so he can be showered with love and attention and be where he wants to be. This is really quite a personal thing, I've struggled not posting anything about it,but I've been encouraged to share it with the S2K family here, because you're all such caring prayer warriors!

Sure thing, I'll pray for him.

WELCOME HOME RAINE!!!!! :D :D :D We missed you!!!!

I had a much better day at work today. :D :D Thankfully it was 999,999 (ok a million) times better) than yesterday. ;) Thanks everyone for your prayers. I had to work hard yesterday to keep my temper under control.

We are getting sun today for once. The marine layer decided to clear for a bit. :D I betcha anything it'll come back in later.

C ya. Joshua

Raine welcome back :D Glad Dakota is on the mend.

Dennis... how was you rough day of work (ie Fishin!) You must have been workin real hard.

Furry...thankfully, my parents aren't that bad...we are old enough to go where we want to. If it means going to my dad's well then so be it. At first, when my parents divorced, we could only go over about once a month due to my dad working shift work. Today, he still works shift work, but my brother and I have vehicles and we know where my dad lives...we are welcome anytime. They both got over that stage, because they know they can't stop us...I'm 21 and my little brother is 17...don't even think about standing in our way.

GBreezer...what kind of math? Basic Math, Algebra, Geometry, Adv. Algebra???

Evening everyone. A nice evening here so I sat out on my back porch and watched the clouds roll in. Looks rainy tomorrow and Friday, but hopefully it will clear up enough Saturday for me to go to the lake with my parents. :)

I am debating whether or not to take a job. I don't really need the money and I am super busy anyways, but I feel like I need one sometimes. I guess we shall see how it works. :)

Have a great evening and chat with you tomorrow.

Welcome back, Raine. Nice to hear the good news on Dakota. :)

I had a nice time at my relatives on my mother's side of the family on Wednesday.

There were a few pain in the neck things that were taken care of. Not sure if I should mention them on the board.

I notice that a number of members mention things in their life. I try to mention some and don't think it is necessary to state most personal issues. Although, I am rather open online, obviously to a point.

These two issues were problems were only bothersome when they first occurred to about an hour or so after they happened. They could of been worse, but were taken care of with time during Wednesday.

One leftover issues that doesn't directly concern me (did only on the way to my uncle and aunts house) yesterday will apparently be ongoing.

Morning everyone.

As far as sharing personal info., I think it is all right, especially if there is no one for you to talk to anywhere else. While we know each other, we don't truly "know" each other. It gives us a forum to communicate and discuss problems. I am not suggesting that we should all discuss every little problem we have, but if you need to talk then I think this is a great place to do it. PM's also work. :)

Cloudy again today. Fun,fun, fun, fun! NOT! I guess I should get moving around and make something of myself this morning.

Have a great day! :) I set some Dunkin' Donuts and O.J. on the porch. Don't know if they will live up to Crouton's standards or not.

Good Morning! Fresh coffee and KK's sure would be nice right about now!

I hope things work out for you guys! I would like to send an open invitation to anyone who would like to chat about a problem. Feel free to PM me anytime. I counsel many people and want to make sure you all know that I am there with a friendly ear and an honest soul. I don't always give the feedback that is easy to hear. It is sometimes inappropriate to air some personal issues on an open message board. Although, here at S2K, I can't think of why you wouldn't get all the support you need but it could possibly be risky, emotionally. Anyway, the offer is there if anyone needs it.

Shannon, the test is on "all of the above" I have to prove that I don't need anymore math credits. There are plenty of practice tests I am taking and not doing to bad, just having to refresh my memory on some stuff.

Garrett, let me know when your package arrives so I know it made it there safely. It should be there by Monday at the latest.

Hope all you S2Ker's have a wonderfully blessed day!

furry - Glad to hear the kids made it safe and sound. I can understand the anxiety of sending them off on a plane by themselves, but always know they are in very good Hands. I'm praying right now for your stepson and that his mother will make the right decision.

Good Morning!

FINALLY, we've been so flippin' busy that my time online is so precious. We took the day off in honor of MeShells BDAY  She's out doing her morning run, 5 miles per day, 7 days a week  Why on earth would anyone WANT to run so much? Me......the ONLY time I run is when I'm out of beer

POD (plan of the day) not much......Meshell and her friend from Tucson are *doing lunch* then shopping, me.........YARD WORK   Then a BBQ and that's about it, it's time to decompress 8-)

RAINE....{{{{HUGS}}}} to ya kiddo, MAN we missed you :D So glad to hear our little buddy is getting better!

Ya know, that's one thing storm2K, you can FEEL the love here  however, like Sandi said, it's really not proper nor is this the place for our DEEP rooted problems BUT....when we feel comfortable, we let out a *little* bit and everyone has a true, deep concern for our problems.

Tom, your trip sounds better and better, so when are you going back home?

Furry, got ya covered girl, HOPEFULLY Brians ex WILL do the right thing and let him come! Such a tragic thing to use kids as a pawn, I know, MY ex pulled the SAME BS for YEARS, now she's paying for it, I've tried to discourage Chris from these kind of feelings towards his mother but with all the BS she pulled, it's only human.

Well folks, it's time *sigh*, the yard is calling *HEAVY SIGH*!

Dennis 8-)

Thanks Shannon, Iso, and Dennis for the prayers...it's a great comfort to know that prayers are being sent out in our behalf around the globe :). We still have no final answer yet, and Saturday is quickly coming....I don't understand how parents can use their own children as pawns either...I also went through a divorce, and I arrange for the kids to be with their dad as much as they can, encouraging a healthy relationship with him. I present a divorced family, with step parents as a larger family, with more people to love you. You get new siblings, new grandparents, and new step mothers/fathers to love you even more! Plus all the ones you had from the beginning!I always try to find a blessing in every situation :). Have a great day everyone.
