i mean are you kidding me! you gotta look at this loop, i might just save it
the close up WV
http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/flt/t1/loop-wv.html
batten down the hatches on the NW side of the lake , i would not be surprised to see gusts well above hurricane force Just IMO
yes derek looks likes a surprise surge for sure coming, i mean this thing looks to be intensifying per WV and drifting perfect scenario for surge on N side , no?

when I look at this loop, its almost like the Lake sucks her in or something...she moves NNE then suddenly jumps ENE.

My thoughts are is that this is a crazy system happening during the middle of a large pattern change and I have no idea what its going to do. I'm really worried about this eyewall surviving to the Atlantic.
PS: We have waterfall on Lake Okeechobbee.

78 mph is NOT a typo.
Latest NHC advisory has increased winds to 65 mph (55 kt) based on reliable observations from other stations and instruments in the area.
Bump for others... check the link and you'll see the reading of 78 mph, though it is a personal wx station.
Looking at it, it is coming from an electric company. Has to be quite reliable IMO.

ENE?! If this thing loops around south enough to clip Miami and then go back out over the southern GOM... then it could have Tampa in its bullseye again! -then she can avoid the Bay Area again...thus proving our force field!

Okeechobee
here we go

Pressure continuing to drop and winds increasing now that the station is in a band.

its where the tidal surge will be highest (and it could be somewhat significant as it is a shallow lake)
especially with the center of fay hugging the western shore of the lake. that's the worst scenario for lake surge.

I show a 3-hr movement of 25nm over the past 3 hours. Just over 8 kts. Direction is 030 degrees past 3 hours.
1 hr movement 9nm toward 027 degrees.

They're on the SW shore of the Lake, right under the right-flank eyewall. If you zoom out the Google map at the site, there are a lot of 75+mph reports.CrazyC83 wrote:Looking at it, it is coming from an electric company. Re: ATL: Tropical Storm Fay Inside Florida Penninsula
Do you all have any reasonable ideas on why this Storm seems to be intensifying over land?
