Stratton did you have look at the EPS. Merry Christmas my friend. At least that's something to get a little excited about finally.

txtwister78 merry christmas to you and you’re family! I do love the look of a trough setting up to our west on the EPS, though would that be cold because it has the trough extending into alaska?

That's the first EPS run where I've actually seen some legit snowstorms here. Just maybe there's hope

Needless to say we blew away the record for the hottest Christmas ever here

Thank you and to yours as well! When I see that look I think of a more active pattern with perhaps a little "fun and games" mixed in if things go our way

At least it's a better signal (cross polar flow) to be sure now that we've got the Pacific "right" on the EPS. A more active storm track and you don't need overwhelming cold to deliver in January. Something to track.

Merry Christmas everyone!! Mid January should be our chances if mjo stays active and the pacific realigns to mjo propagation imo

I hope gefs goes towards eps but it will take time I suppose

Good sign to see the Euro going to it first. Sometimes Euro likes to put troughs too far west so need to watch trend but things could trend even better with time.

I do like seeing some se ridging on the EPS, if the euro is right about the trough in the west, some resistance from the se ridge ( not too much though) would be a good thing as it usually leads to any overrunning pattern

Exactly believe me I'd always rather have the EPS on my side

Not that I'm expecting this to be a very quick process but anyway

Winter 2020-2021 :cold:

All observations are in Tecumseh, OK unless otherwise noted.

Winter posts are focused mainly for Oklahoma & Texas.

Take any of my forecasts with a grain of salt, refer to the NWS, SPC, and NHC for official information

GFS looks like its starting to move torward the euros idea somewhat, this 18z run has a much improved pacific pattern with the aleutian ridge getting crushed , new ridge popping off the west coast
