THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GLASGOW HAS EXTENDED THE
* FLOOD WARNING FOR SMALL STREAMS IN...
PETROLEUM COUNTY IN NORTHEAST MONTANA...
SOUTHWESTERN GARFIELD COUNTY IN NORTHEAST MONTANA...
* UNTIL 630 PM MDT FRIDAY.
* AT 335 AM MDT...THE MUSSELSHELL RIVER ALONG THE PETROLEUM/GARFIELD
COUNTY LINE HAS RISEN TO 9.95 FEET WHICH IS NEARLY 2 FEET ABOVE THE
FLOOD STAGE OF 8 FEET.
THE MUSSELSHELL IS EXPECTED TO CREST AT SLIGHTLY ABOVE 10 FEET EARLY
THIS MORNING AND THEN SLOWLY FALL DURING THE DAY TODAY. FLOODING OF
LOW LYING AREAS NEAR THE MUSSELSHELL RIVER WILL CONTINUE THROUGH
TODAY.
A FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR HAS BEEN REPORTED.
STREAM RISES WILL BE SLOW AND FLASH FLOODING IS NOT EXPECTED.
HOWEVER...ALL INTERESTED PARTIES SHOULD TAKE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS
IMMEDIATELY.
