Important dates prior to June 1:
1-March 15=Official Storm2k forecast Numbers Poll will start.
2- March 20=Official Start of Spring (Vernal Equinox) at 1:26 PM EST.
3- April 2=Daylight Savings Time begins.
4-April 4=Philip J. Klotzbach/Dr William Gray April 2006 outlook.
5-April 10-14=Hurricane Conference,Orlando,Fla.
6-April 24-28=27th Conference on Hurricanes and Tropical Meteorology,Monterey,California.
7-Around Mid-May=NOAA first 2006 hurricane season outlook.
8- May 15= EPAC hurricane season starts.
9- May 31=Philip J. Klotzbach/Dr William Gray hours before 2006 season starts outlook.
Note=If anyone knows the exact date when NOAA will release their mid-may outlook you can post it and I will include it at the important dates list.
Also if anyone knows of another important date that is not listed here please let me know.

No, we're not all here because we can't wait...some of us are still recovering, waiting on repairs from last hurricane season. Some of us are fascinated by hurricanes, and at the same time, fear them. Some of us have homes, some of us had homes, and some of us want to be here for the best information possible. Some of us know how deadly, destructive and costly hurricanes are and really don't want one to hit us and devastate where we live. Yet we're still here to learn.

Wow I can't believe that we are only 3 months away from the official start of the 2006 season.It looks like a few days ago we were tracking the last storm of the 2005 season Zeta.

Well that wasnt very long ago...remember that Zeta went past the new year so that was only about 3 months ago

Spring begins on the 1st March meterologically speaking. Only a week and a half left of winter.
