It seems the rain chances diminished to nothing on Wednesday and Thursday. Temperatures will stay in the 90s throughout the weekend with isolated thunderstorms from Saturday through the beginning of next week in association with a series of weak cool fronts.

Looks like we may not get some rain after all. Hurricane Dean, which was poised to hit Texas is aiming at Mexico, leaving the North Texas area high and dry. The good news, however, is that the temperatures in North Texas will be cooling down a few degrees by the beginning of next week.

We may see another hot weekend before the students head back to school on Monday. Also, it seems our rain chances are pushed to Thursday as a slow-moving storm system (associated with a stationary front) moves south to the region. We're not expecting any of these storms to turn severe, but more than likely, the rain will last through the Labor Day weekend.

Well, the first day back at School for the kids in North Texas is gonna be a hot one as temperatures make their final soar to near 100 this month. On Thursday, we'll see a better chance of thunderstorms and a major cooldown throughout the Labor Day weekend.

We're gonna be seeing some showers and thunderstorms this week throughout the first half of the Labor Day weekend associated with a cool front and daytime heating. Although we will see some strong winds and very heavy rain, the overall severe weather threat is low. Last night was a completely different story for Bosque County where thunderstorms briefly became severe in Meridian, TX.

So far, it has been a nice, yet hot "Back To School" week for North Texas. We'll continue to see some isolated to scattered thunderstorms throughout the Labor Day weekend. Although the severe weather threat looks minimal, isolated strong storms (associated with a weak cool front could be possible.

Today, we're gonna see a slight cooldown with some thunderstorms in the forecast. A cool front will move in and interact with amoist and unstable airmass in place of North Texas. A few of the storms could briefly turn severe, but after that, we should have a settling Labor Day weekend.

It has been the first week back at school, and it seems we're gonna have a settling Labor Day weekend after all. From today through Tuesday, we'll see Partly to Mostly Sunny skies with highs in the 90s. But from Wednesday on, we'll see another cooldown and another round of Thunderstorms as an upper level disturbance moves into the state.

It seems there's an Unsettling Labor Day after all. An upper Level disturbance will move into West Texas this week with scattered showers and thunderstorms.

NWS - Fort Worth wrote:...WET END TO THE LABOR DAY WEEKEND FOR NORTH TEXAS...EXTENDING
THROUGH MID WEEK..

AN UPPER LEVEL LOW HAS MOVED OVER WEST TEXAS THIS MORNING. THIS
WILL HELPING TO DRAW IN RICH PACIFIC MOISTURE FROM TROPICAL STORM
HENRIETTE OVER THE EASTERN PACIFIC OCEAN OVER TEXAS. MEANWHILE...A
FETCH OF RICH GULF MOISTURE WILL MIGRATE NORTHWARD OVER MUCH OF
THE REGION AS WELL. AS DAYTIME HEATING WORKS UPON THE RICH MOISTURE
OVER NORTH TEXAS...SCATTERED TO NUMEROUS SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS
WILL DEVELOP BY EACH AFTERNOON...AND LINGER INTO THE EVENING TODAY
THROUGH WEDNESDAY.

LOCALIZED HEAVY RAINFALL AMOUNTS TO BETWEEN 1 AND 2 INCHES EACH
AFTERNOON AND EVENING ARE POSSIBLE. THE REGION HAS BEEN RELATIVELY
DRY THE PAST FEW WEEKS AND SHOULD BE ABLE TO ABSORB MUCH OF THE RAIN
INITIALLY. HOWEVER...WITH EACH PASSING DAY...SOILS MAY BECOME LOCALLY
SATURATED ACROSS NORTH TEXAS...RESULTING IN A LOCALIZED FLASH
FLOODING OR SMALL STREAM FLOODING. ALSO...STRONGER STORMS WILL LIKELY
PRODUCE VERY GUSTY WINDS AND FREQUENT...CLOUD-TO-GROUND LIGHTNING.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN FORT WORTH WILL CONTINUE TO MONITOR
THIS SYSTEM VERY CLOSELY FOR THE THREAT OF HEAVY RAINFALL.

The wet trend may start again next week.

It seems the rain DFW was getting wasn't heavy at all. DFW Int'l only recorded .76 in. of rain with surrounding area getting 1 inch or more. It was a busy morning, however for our southern neighbors. Cities of Cleburne, Waxahache, Meridian, and Hillsboro got up to 6 inches all morning, not to mention some severe weather damage in Navarro County where a TORNADO WARNING was prompted.

We're enjoying yet another very warm weekend before another cool front passes through the region this Tuesday, bringing a chance of rain and thunderstorms. While no severe weather is expected, we may see some flooding in some suburban areas. Temperatures will warm back up to the upper 80s from Thursday on.

Many of us North Texans are waking up to a stormy morning. Some areas already got up to 3 inches of rain, and more is yet to come; which is why a Flash Flood Watch is issued for areas north of a Comanche, Meridian, Hillsboro, and Tyler line. This includes the DFW area until 4:00PM CDT. Also, FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS are issued for Jack County until 10:15AM CDT and for Wise County until 9:15AM CDT. Needless to say it's gonna be a rough 24-36 hours so you may want to get your umbrellas, and rain coats. Keep in mind that some areas may be flooded, even without warning. If you happen to see any flooding on roads or sidewalks you usually travel, find an alternative way to work or school. In other words, "Turn Around, Don't Drow".

Yesterday was a major washout for some North Texans. DFW Int'l Airport has gotten a record breaking 3.90 in. of rain in the past 24 hours, bringing a total of 4.99 in. for this month. Many facilities in the immediate DFW area got flooded out, including a college in my neighborhood. Luckily, it was just the maintenance foyer, but the access point is closed off until tomorrow. Today, we'll see a decrease in cloudiness and cooler temperatures with highs in the lower 80s, however, we'll see another rapid warm-up by the beginning of the weekend.

Just yesterday, Hurricane Humberto was developing in the Gulf Of Mexico and has slammed the Texas Coastline this morning. Humberto's not gonna be affecting us, because the storm is moving Northeast through Louisiana. We'll also see a summer trend making a return from today through next week, despite another cool front passing through DFW late Friday Night.
