There's plenty of moisture in the Gulf to help spark this wave if it makes it that far.

I thought you guys might be interested in this--this morning, a ship moving through the south Caribbean reported a pressure of 1007 mb and 40 knot winds and 7 hours later and to the southeast 1010 mb and 37 knot winds, and one later 1009.5 mb and 33 knot winds. This in an area without any convection--at 13.4N, 74.0W and 12.9N, 75.1W respectively.

Interestingly too this evening, just south of the wave, there was another report showing a light west wind (5 knots)

This wave has really woken up, Im guessing the shear is too strong and it is moving to fast for anything to develop now, but it will make it to the gulf.

Upper low near 30.3N/63.2W is moving toward 250 deg. at 10 kts. Wave axis is interacting with the upper level trof in a region of very high wind shear. It's something to watch, but I don't think anything will develop. Probably have another 2 weeks or so before Chantal forms. Pattern is very slowly evolving. Bermuda high extending farther west, lower pressure near Africa by the end of July may allow for the start of the Cape Verde season.
