At what time should I head back to my safe room? The salado tornado dodged me but I don't know if another cell's coming for me. The RadarScope looks bad.

Summer's for hibernation, Winter’s my vacation

Don't use my posts as forecast, I'm a complete meteorology noob! I just like cold weather, alright?

All observations I post are for Temple, Texas unless otherwise stated.

Cell near the airport looks like it might be trying to detach from the cluster and wrap up?

It's been weakening and no longer warned. Hoping for that 0.25".

Do you think those storms we had this morning took the edge off up this way?

Noticed that. Despite a scary parameter space, these northern cells have really struggled to get going.

I think the development of the mcv to the south killed everything north of it by messing up low level inflow and overcrowding the area with storms

Not sure but a heavy cloud deck probably gave signs further north. I mentioned last night S/SE of DFW was hot spot and ended up even slightly more south. Today had good lift but we're still looking at relatively small disturbance and the southern end storms often are less disrupted. Still learning though on the severe weather end.

@MyRadarWX — Hail in Salado, Tex., south of Killeen, coming in at 5.5 inches across — the size of some melons.

The record in Texas is from Hondo, west of San Antonio, when a stone 6.4 inches across fell on April 28 last year.

Burkburnette storm in 2020 dropped six inch hail.

That might be a 2022 Record, I've noticed that the storms have become more violent in nature lately.

Amazing sunset out there right now. Got a bit more rain but nothing "historic" about the last two days.

That’s another pretty nasty looking cell. Not quite as pronounced as the one earlier, though.

Amazing how a city an hour north of me has seen 5 inches of rain, 5” hail and tornadoes and we’ve barely had a cloud in the sky.

Not that I’m complaining

@BillWadell — Officials say multiple homes damaged, cars tossed around by #tornado near #Salado, #Texas.

Preliminary report is that everyone is accounted for. Only minor injuries reported so far. @breakingweather #txwx

It looks to have tightened up a good bit. Wouldn’t surprise me at all if there’s something on the ground right now.
